The RSPA needs you!
Over 60 people answered the RSPA’s call for action, and came to an open meeting at the London offices of Hewitt Associates. They were reminded of the origins of the RSPA, and learnt about the need the RSPA had for fresh blood and funding.Justin Wray, Head of Regulatory Policy and Programmes at the Pensions Regulator was the guest speaker. He explained why the Regulator is focussed on good administration, including record-keeping, and the Regulator’s aspirations for future work in this area. He also acknowledged the usefulness of groups such as the RSPA for helping develop policy.
Currently the RSPA is focussed on four initiatives:
• DC issues
• Risk
• General Statement of Administration Standards
• The member survey
The RSPA explained the work that had been carried out by the various groups in these areas and then asked for help – in terms of time and ideas as well as cost – to move those initiatives forward. RSPA was encouraged by the enthusiasm shown at the meeting and, as a result, will be looking in more detail about ways to continue the work started.
